Support to the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children |
| Description |
Trafficking in Persons contributes significantly to fragility in many regions of the world. It is also a major cause of migration-induced human insecurity. From a human security perspective on migration foreign policy, the fight against trafficking in persons therefore constitutes a key area of intervention. This project aims to support the Mandate of the Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons (SR TIP), especially Women and Children in delivering on her mandate. It aims at promoting effective implementa-tion of the legal and policy framework to prevent and combat trafficking in persons, based on internation-al human rights law and standards. During this phase of her mandate the SR TIP will put a particular fo-cus on (i) innovative models for social inclusion of trafficked persons and (ii) the continuation of her work on the subject of contributions of business to counter trafficking. |
